CUTTING EDGE CONTEMPORARY ART AT
HUNGATE
15th March - 16th July 2012
Over forty East Anglian artists have recently responded to a call to exhibit in Hungate Medieval Art's exhibition "Journeys Through the Light" to be held in St. Peter Hungate church in Elm Hill, Norwich. This is the first project of its kind undertaken by the charity and it has been made possible by a joint venture between staff and students of the School of World Art and Museology from the University of East Anglia and the Trustees of Hungate.
Seventeen artists have been chosen by the selectors from the UEA and Hungate trustees. Works include paintings, sculpture, craft, videos, and interventions, and the exhibition promises to be both visually varied and challenging in the artists' different approaches to the theme of light and image making as found in medieval stained glass.

Stained Glass Exhibition
Curated by Claire Daunton (University of East Anglia) with photographs by Mike Dixon.
The beauty and complexity of medieval stained glass is the subject of Hungate Medieval Art’s first exhibition.
The exhibition reflects the distinctive Norwich school of medieval glass whilst looking at the development of stained glass over the period and the people and processes involved in its production.
